Maj Gen (Dr) Ashok Kumar, VSM (Retd) is a Kargil war veteran and a prolific writer having written more than 300 articles published in more than 30 publications.  He commanded an Infantry formation in Arunachal Pradesh with the responsibility of the area where 1962 war battles were fought. The officer was MD ECHS from mid-2017 to mid-2019 and PSO at HQ Eastern Command prior to superannuation. The officer has already authored two books to include ‘China Betrays Again’ and ‘Indian Churnings on the Global Stage’ with more books in the pipeline. The officer writes both in Hindi and English besides being a motivational speaker.

Gp Capt Amitabh Mathur (Retd) has served in the Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) Branch for 33 years. He was Senior Research Fellow at Centre for Air Power Studies, prior to joining CENJOWS. His specialisation is the field of operations and maintenance of surface to air guided weapons, maintenance of electronic warfare and specialist air borne weapon systems. He has undergone courses at DSSC Wellington and CDM Secunderabad. He hold publications with Air Power Journals, Asian defence Review, Defence and Diplomacy.

Capt. Nitin Agarwala is a serving naval officer who has experienced various facets of a warship as a user, designer, inspector, maintainer, a policymaker, a teacher and a researcher. He has authored over 80 articles, papers, book chapters and two books entitled “Deep Seabed Mining in the Indian Ocean: Economic and Strategic Dimensions” and “Rise of China as a World Leader in Commercial Shipbuilding”. His research interests include Corrosion, Shipbuilding, Deep Seabed Natural Resource, Submarine Cables, Blue Economy, Artificial Intelligence, Marine Pollution, Climate Change, Blue Economy and ‘Maritime technological issues’ with their linkages to Internatio al Relations and Public Policy. He w s a Research Fellow at the National Maritime Foundation from 2017- 2019 and is presently a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies and a Visiting Faculty at the Naval War College, Goa and the Centre for Ma itime Studies at the University of Mumbai.

Col Vijay Narayan Shukla, VSM is a Senior Fellow with Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), New Delhi. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, Joint Military Intelligence Training Centre, Defence Intelligence Agency, Washington DC, USA and Pune University and has served in numerous infantry, intelligence and counter intelligence assignments in field and as an Instructor at Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Pune.

Wg Cdr Vishal Jain is a helicopter pilot of the Indian Air Force and has flown more than 3000 hours in a variety of helicopters over all types of terrains of the country. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and has commanded a helicopter unit in the northern sector.

Dr Ulupi Borah is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS). She completed her doctoral programme from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University with her thesis titled “Japan and The South China Sea Dispute 2002-2016”. Her expertise lies in the Indo-Pacific region, particularly Japan’s security policies, maritime security, and the EU in the Indo-Pacific. Previously, Dr Borah served as an Assistant Professor at Rashtriya Raksha University, Gujarat, in the School for Internal Security, Defence, and Strategic Studies. In 2023, she completed the “New Issues in Security Course” at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Switzerland. She was honoured with a scholarship from the United States Mission to the United Nations. As a special researcher, she contributed at Niigata University, Japan. Remarkably, she was the first Indian to secure the Japan Student Service Organisation (JASSO) scholarship in 2019, a prestigious award by the Government of Japan.
